About Me

For more than ten years, I’ve worked with dozens of individuals ranging from adolescents on the brink of transitioning into college to rising executives looking to increase productivity, improve self management skills, or discover a more rewarding life balance.

In that time, I’ve devoted myself to becoming an exceptional Online ADHD and Executive Functioning coach. Learning is a lifetime passion for me. In fact, if I’m not enrolled in a course, I’ve just finished one or am about to start! And beyond achieving the industry’s top professional accreditations and certifications, I continually study the latest thinking on ADHD, executive functions, life balance issues, and all aspects of well being.

I am proud to be a trainer and Director of Mentoring at JST Coaching and Training where I teach new ADHD coaches.  I am also a trained assessor for the ICF and a certified coach mentor.

My husband and I have located to Wilmington, NC to be near the salt water.  Before that, we were a  part of the Reston, Virginia community in Northern Virginia for over 20 years, raising two daughters. I’m also the proud rescuer of several kind and loyal dogs and cats.

And while every client is unique, I follow the same three guiding principles in my practice:

Collaboration is a pre-requisite to success. I collaborate with individuals who are highly motivated, ready, able and willing to learn new habits and take action in their lives.

An environment of mutual trust. From the first time we meet, I work to ensure each client feels safe, comfortable, and never judged. I listen carefully to tune into each client’s mindset and perspective and get a solid grasp of who each person truly is. And there’s often a good measure of shared humor along the way as well.

We work in the here and now. We focus on what’s going on today (not years in the past) and what kind of future each client envisions. Accountability is absolutely key. Every client must have the drive and initiative within themselves to succeed. And when there are road bumps or set-backs along the way, we learn from them and move forward.

I welcome the opportunity to tell you more about how my coaching techniques can help you or someone in your life. Please email joann@joannskinner.com.
